Nar Ouse Regeneration Area (NORA), King’s Lynn

NORA is part of a £250 million initiative to regenerate the King’s Lynn area. The vision includes areas for employment, retail, community facilities and education. The area includes South Lynn which was identified as the fourth Millennium Community.

At its early stages, the site largely comprised of former industrial land, with extensive ground contamination and derelict buildings. The challenge was to present the Vision to local residents and stakeholders and to raise NORA's profile, showing the exciting potential of the site.

Scarlett Design created an easily recognised logo and design theme to represent the mixed use river-side development proposals. The bright land use colours in the logo symbolise the NORA Vision rippling out to the wider community. This branding formed the basis for all ongoing visual communications.

Following the initial consultation period, unanimous support and enthusiasm led to the securing of substantial public sector backing and outline planning consent.

This was followed by the delivery of a developer prospectus, enabling the effective marketing of the site to the developer community by public sector partners.
